Asante Kotoko FC Equipment Officer Dead In Fatal Accident

George AsareAn official of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club , only identified as Mr  George Asare has been confirmed dead following Wednesday night’s accident at Nantia on  Nkawkaw new road.

The Porcupine Warriors had been dealt a huge blow after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Inter Allies in the league and it turned worse after the bus heading to Kumasi from Accra encountered the unfortunate incident.

Almost all players and management members on board  the Yuntong  bus suffered varying  injuries  and as  result, and were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment.

Most of them have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi except four who are still on admission at the facility in Nkawkaw

The team was returning to Kumasi with the players for preparation ahead another clash with arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak plunged into a slow moving vehicle resulting the accident.

Among persons who suffered severe injuries include Head Coach Steve Polak, Godwin Ablodey, Baba Mahama and Ahmed Adams.

A high powered  delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is currently on its way to Kumasi to assess the situation and to sympathize with the entire team and fans.
