Henceforth, Black Stars Skipper Asamoah Gyan will have ‘Dr’ prefixed to his official name after the Ternapil Economic State University in Ukraine conferred on him an Honorary Doctorate Degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (NKUST) last Saturday.
The degree was in recognition of his achievements on the football field and his philanthropic initiatives.
“It’s good somebody is out there recognizing what I’m doing. I feel honored [by this gesture]. Before, I thought I was just doing it for God, but human beings on this earth have also recognized it,” Gyan said.
“I feel honored,” he told the media.
Among other personalities who received the awards are: Manfred Tekyi, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Joy Industries, Nana Kwaku Aggrey, Christian Kwasi Agyeman, Joyce Nonhanhla and Victor Kwadwo Ademang.
The various degrees were given by the Ternapil National Economic University, Zaporozhye State Medical University and Alfred Noble University all in Ukraine.
The Peristrofi World Honorary International Awards (PWHIA) is one of the worlds’ – renowned awards body recognizing result oriented and hardworking persons for their contribution to their respective countries in their area of discipline.
The award is among the most respected prices in the world, conferring honor on self- made personalities with distinctions in area of their endeavor.
The officiating dignitaries include Professor Grygorii Monastyskyi, Vice Rector for International Economic University, Professor Serhii Chugin, Vice Deen of the second International Department of Zaporizhzhya State Medical University, Dr Victoria Amoah, Principal of Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training College and Professor Andrii Vyselko, chancellor of Alfred Noble University Education.
